Unique concept and design, Heartwood Preserve has won seven distinguished awards for innovation.

Steve has long recognized the importance of philanthropy and is deeply committed. Steve has chosen to apply his accumulated resources, entrepreneurial skills, and connections to form the Steve Menzies Global Foundation to solve complex social problems facing people across the globe. Starting with an emphasis on his observations of the shortcomings of ever-growing governments that are inconceivably large and mired in their own bureaucratic processes, Steve’s foundation works to uncover the root of problems — problems that others are unable to perceive or just find too difficult or too overwhelming.

Beginning in 2019, Steve’s foundation has worked to liberate American citizens wrongfully imprisoned, either as political hostages or for ransom by terrorist organizations or criminal gangs. After several years of immediate success, Steve consolidated these efforts into a new dedicated foundation, The Global Reach Task Force, which has attracted the best individuals and organizations in the field. Global Reach provides needed financial, intellectual and operational support to proven individuals and other non-profits. In the past 18 months alone, acting as a center for coordination of intelligence and operational activity, Global Reach has freed Britney Griner and Taylor Dudley from Russia, James Frisvold from Mexico and dozens of undisclosed individuals held for ransom by terrorist organizations. Steve has been and continues to be, directly involved face-to-face on the ground, in the higher-profile, in-country negotiations.

Beginning in 2021, Steve formed a partnership with Pope Francis for Steve’s foundation to create and manage a number of new global foundations under Pope Francis’ patronage that will address what Steve perceives as a worldwide social crisis induced by the misuse of social technology.

Steve is a graduate of Columbia University in New York with an engineering degree in mathematics.
